The CACLD responded to an appeal from medical professionals involved in the collection of sexual assault evidence to standardize the sexual assault evidence kits and collection methods used in California. The purpose of this committee is to develop consensus among California’s crime laboratories for the components of Sexual Assault Evidence Kits to be used in the state, to standardize methods of collection for sexual assault evidence, and to keep apprised of issues related to the processing of Sexual Assault Kits.
Possible / Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Survey laboratories for current practices and kits used.
- Inform and advise the CACLD Board on any proposals or related issues.
